Auspicious beginning…Can’t repeat the word I uttered when the alarm clock went off this morning. Working at a university we were closed since December 21. That was wonderful until this morning – when it hurt!
Regardless I rose, not gracefully but I made it to my feet at the ungodly hour of 6 a.m. and trudged into the bathroom. Whereupon I somehow got the shower doors off track and couldn’t open or close the doors. This is a movement I have made at least every week day for ten years, so I have no clue where I went wrong. In trying to force the doors, something fell off the top of the door and brushed me on the way down. I paid little attention and stepped in. Then Hubby asks, are you bleeding? Yep, matter of fact, that thing that fell was his razor and it nicked me on the way down.
I hadn’t been up seven minutes yet. Dropped the soap twice but did get the bleeding stopped. The service light came on in the car, so went there first before catching a ride to work.
I could be home, polishing up that next manuscript!
It’s gonna be a long year…
I have until Monday – but you sure make going back to work seem like a whole lot of fun.
L
I do, don’t I? And of course did not get nearly what I wanted to get done completed over the break. Discipline!!
retire, donna, retire!!!
From your lips! If I could only get myself adopted (since Hubby isn’t keen on me finding a sugar daddy)…
Donna – That’s going to be me on Monday sans the blood and soap challenge–I use body wash. I was supposed to go back today, but couldn’t face it. Someday, my friend, someday.
Yeah, keep away from the blood at least – such fun. At least it didn’t hurt.
Yikes! Just think…it has to get better from here. Happy New Year to you!
Boy, I hope you’re right! I’ll be in bed by 9 tonight to make sure!
